Gotham Radio Announces Guests for This Weekend’s Show – Nassau Deputy Minority Leader Kevan Abrahms and County Executive Edward Mangano Phone-In to discuss NIFA

February 19th, 2011; West Babylon, NY

David Schwartz & Brad Gerstman, hosts of Gotham Radio on WGBB 1240 AM, announce their guests for this Saturday’s show. They are pleased to be joined at 5:15pm by Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams and at 5:30pm by Nassau County Executive Edward P Mangano. Both guests will be discussing their opposing perspective on the current financial situation and the Nassau County Interim Finance Agency (NIFA).

“NIFA is big news right now in Nassau County, as it’s the only the second county in modern times to be taken over by an oversight agency,” says Schwartz. “We’re going to talk to people on both sides of this story, and really try to get to the bottom of this issue.”

Recently, NIFA has made news. On January 26th, NIFA unanimously voted to take immediate control of Nassau County’s Finances, which contends the county’s 2011 budget contains a $176 million deficit which is more than seven times the 1 percent gap that triggers a takeover under state law.

“NIFA gave Mangano a February 15th deadline to come up with a new financial plan for this year’s $2.6 billion budget,” says Gerstman. “On Saturday, we’ll talk to him about where that budget stands.”
