Gotham Partner Brad Gerstman to Speak to Students about Government Relations February 18, 2010; Wyandanch, NY
Brad Gerstman, Partner at Gotham Government Relations, and dynamic public speaker, has been asked to speak to students at the Wyandanch Memorial High School regarding a career in government relations. Gerstman’s presentation is part of the school’s “Participation in Government” information lecture series. Gerstman will discuss governmental structure on federal, state and local levels, in addition to explaining to the students what lobbying is and how vital approach, advocacy and engagement are to maintaining important client relationships.
“I’m thrilled that Principal Sibblies, my former class and teammate from Hofstra, thought of me to speak to his students,” Gerstman says. “I’m honored to be included in this speaking series, and join the likes of United States Congressman Steve Israel, New York State Assemblyman Robert Sweeney, Suffolk County Legislator Dwayne Gregory, Town of Babylon Councilwoman Jacqualin Gordon.”
The focus of this lecture series is for students to learn interactively about the government, from real-life officials. The students will then pick a guest speaker to model their end-of-year project on.
“Mr. Gerstman will be able to add a great amount of insight to our students,” says Sibblies. “We’re excited for our students to learn about the lobbying aspect of the political arena and to show how important it is to be involved with their elected officials.”
